Forward-Thinking Designer Sets His Resume Apart With A Fun Take On The CV

Sorting through endless applications becomes tiresome for employers, so standing out is a must. Andy Morris, a famed artist and designer, understood that when he created his novel CV.

Applying for jobs can be a boring process that involves mountains of paperwork. This is not only tedious for the applicant, who must fill out each and every sheet while ensuring that everything looks aesthetically appealing, but can also bore the employer, who must sort through each applicant and their paperwork. Because of the tedium, standing out and creating a fresh spin on resumes and CVs has become popular. Additionally, making a creative resume can be fun for both the applicant and the employer, as it spices up the monotony of the job hunt and adds a much needed element of fun. No one understands this principle of making normal things fun more than Andy Morris, an internationally exhibited artist and design graduate from the University of South Wales who enlivened his job applications with a unique CV in the form of a LEGO minifigure.

Andy Morris is an acclaimed artist and designer that, previously from the world of finance, has swapped paperwork and multi-million-pound accounts for the creative life. His career is defined by his trademark use of toys, injecting a dose of youthful light-heartedness into his work and earning him fame from people of all ages. Now, after record-breaking exhibitions, a successful art tour, pop up galleries in exhibition centres, castles, and UNESCO World Heritige Sites, and even a visit from the owner of LEGO, Andy is back on the job market. And using his expert design philosophy and eye for detail, he has created a LEGO minifigure CV that sets him apart from his peers.

This fun take on the classic curriculum vitae comes in the form of a minifigure that resembles Andy’s own likeness, holding a laptop in one hand and a miniature custom printed CV in the other which shows that Andy ‘ticks all the boxes’. Meanwhile, the packaging has been expertly designed to appear like the exclusive LEGO figures normally reserved for the likes of Comic-Con, while also featuring design elements unique to Andy’s work. The entire package and minifigure displays the care, detail, and design philosophies that Andy holds dear, all while conveying his commitment to fun and innovation. This combines to create an interesting CV that sets Andy Morris apart from his contemporaries while still conveying the necessary information, and proving that everything can be fun if you take the right approach.

Andy hopes that this novel approach to his CV will land him an opportunity with a firm mirroring his creative ambition.
